Part of Async video messaging
Record your screen and camera in Chrome, stop, and copy the link. RecBeam uploads automatically and gives you a private, unlisted link to send.
Steps
- Install RecBeam and sign in with Google.
- Choose Screen only, Screen + Camera or Camera only.
- Pick a tab, a window or your screen, and record.
- Stop. The recording uploads automatically.
- Copy the link and paste it into email or chat.
A simple script
- Say who you are and the one thing this video is about.
- Show it on screen while you explain.
- End with what you need from the viewer and by when.
Tips
- Keep it under two minutes where you can.
- Put the question or request in the message text as well, so people know why to click.
- Use your camera for personal messages and screen only for quick walkthroughs.
After you send
Viewers can react and comment, and you can see viewer insights for the recording. Transcripts and search make longer videos easy to scan. The share link is unlisted, and you can delete the recording at any time. For when to pick video over a meeting, see async vs sync communication, and for a team routine, async standups with video. The overview is on the async video messaging page.
