What to expect
Changing speed re-encodes the video. A modest change, such as 1.25x or 1.5x, keeps speech easy to understand, and very high speeds make audio hard to follow.
Tip
Trim dead air first with the video trimmer, then change the speed.

Video Speed Controller: frequently asked questions
Does the voice sound like a chipmunk at 2x?
No. Audio is time-stretched, so speech stays at its natural pitch.
What if my video has no sound?
That works too. The tool detects it and exports video only.
Is it really free?
Yes. There is no price, no account, no watermark and no limit on how many files you convert.
Are my files uploaded?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser on your own computer. Your video never leaves your device.
Is there a file size limit?
Files up to about 1 GB work well. Very large files depend on your computer's memory and can be slow.
Why does the first conversion take longer?
The first time, your browser downloads the converter (about 30 MB). It is cached after that.
