Getting started
Installing RecBeam
See the Download page for current private-testing installation steps: load the folder unpacked from chrome://extensions with Developer mode on.
Signing in with Google
Click the RecBeam icon and choose Continue with Google. Your recordings are private to that signed-in account.
Recording
Starting a recording
Open RecBeam, choose Record a video, then pick your source and start. A short countdown gives you time to get ready.
Choosing a source
Pick Screen only, Screen + Camera, or Camera only, then select a tab, window, or your entire screen through Chrome's picker.
Camera permissions
Chrome will prompt for camera access the first time you choose a camera-including mode. Approve it once; RecBeam won't re-prompt unless you revoke the permission in Chrome.
Microphone permissions
Chrome will prompt for microphone access similarly. You can mute your mic at any time from the floating controls without losing the permission.
Floating recording controls
A floating dock lets you pause, resume, mute, hide your camera, or finish — without switching tabs. Closing the floating window doesn't stop the recording.
Uploads
Automatic upload
Upload starts the moment you finish recording — there's no separate upload button.
Upload progress
A progress indicator shows while your recording uploads. You can keep working while it finishes.
Upload recovery
If an upload can't complete — a network drop, a closed tab — your recording is kept locally rather than lost.
Uploads needing attention
Any recording whose upload didn't finish appears here, with options to retry, download, or discard it.
Retry upload
Retry re-attempts the same upload safely — it never creates a duplicate copy of a recording that actually finished.
Download recovery copy
You can download the local recovery copy of an unfinished upload directly to your device at any time.
Library
Cloud video library
Every uploaded recording appears in Videos, searchable and sortable, visible only to your account.
Rename
Open a recording's menu and choose Rename to give it a clearer title.
Archive
Archiving removes a recording from your active Videos view without deleting it or its share link. It still counts toward your plan's video limit.
Download
Download the original recording file from your library at any time.
Delete
Permanently deleting a recording removes the file and immediately breaks its public share link. This can't be undone.
Screenshots
Screenshot capture
Use "Capture this tab" from the toolbar popup, or "Capture screenshot" inside RecBeam to pick a window or screen.
Screenshot editor
Crop, draw, add arrows and shapes, add text, highlight, or pixelate, with full undo and redo, before uploading and sharing.
Sharing
Share links
Every uploaded recording or screenshot gets a private, unlisted link. Anyone with the exact link can view it without signing in.
Billing
Starter limits
The free Starter plan allows 5-minute recordings and 25 active cloud videos. Screenshots don't count against your video limit.
Business limits
Business removes the length and video limits entirely, and adds 1080p, editing and access control. Business + AI adds automatic bug reports and issue filing.
Upgrading to Business
Open Account inside RecBeam, choose a billing interval, and select Upgrade to Business to start checkout through Lemon Squeezy.
Delayed activation after checkout
Business access activates automatically once Lemon Squeezy confirms your payment — usually within seconds. If it's been more than a few minutes, use Retry status refresh in Account, or contact us.
Manage subscription
Open Account and choose Manage subscription to open Lemon Squeezy's Customer Portal — update payment method, change plans, or cancel.
Cancellation
Cancel any time through Manage Subscription. Business access continues through your current paid period; see our Cancellation Policy.
Refund requests
See our Refund Policy for first-payment refund eligibility, or email us with your account email and order details.
Account & data
Delete content
Delete any individual recording or screenshot permanently from its menu inside RecBeam.
Delete account
Email us from your account's address with the subject "Delete my RecBeam account" to request full account deletion.
Contact support
