Trust at RecBeam

RecBeam is a Chrome extension for screen, camera, and microphone recording and screenshots, operated by Nexus Eclipse (Pvt) Ltd. Capture starts only after you approve Chrome’s picker or click a screenshot control.

These names are RecBeam’s infrastructure and sign-in providers. They are not RecBeam company certifications.

What we collect

• Google name, email, user ID, and profile photo to sign you in
• The recording or screenshot you explicitly create, plus library metadata
• Share activity you enable: comments, reactions, optional self-reported viewer email, RecBeam view counts
• Business membership (Admin/Creator)
• Lemon Squeezy plan and status — not your card number
• Hashed sessions; IP on comment/reaction posts for rate limiting

What we do not do

• Sell your data
• Use Google Sign-In data for ads or data brokers
• Use data for credit scoring
• Collect browsing history, keystrokes, or mouse telemetry
• Record before you approve Chrome’s capture UI
• Run advertising pixels on share pages
• Email you comment notifications (those stay in the RecBeam dashboard)

How capture works

Chrome shows Choose what to share (tab, window, or screen) or asks for camera/mic. RecBeam records that source. Screenshots run only from RecBeam capture buttons. A RecBeam HUD can appear on the page while you record. That is RecBeam’s control UI, not a scrape of the website.

You choose the source. If other people or secrets are on screen, they can appear in the file. You are responsible for permission and workplace rules.

How share links work

UUID links; pages ask search engines not to index them. A public link works for anyone who has it. You can restrict access, add a password (Business), allow-list emails, and control comments, guest comments, reactions, and RecBeam view counts. Guest email is typed by the viewer and not verified. Viewers may copy or re-record what they see.

Google Sign-In

Scopes: userinfo.email and userinfo.profile only.

RecBeam's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google account data is used solely to authenticate the user and associate recordings with their RecBeam account. It is never used for advertising, never sold, and never transferred to data brokers.

Video intelligence

Transcripts: Cloudflare Workers AI (Whisper). Summaries: Cloudflare Workers AI (Llama). Audio/text from your recording. Original file is kept. RecBeam does not train RecBeam models on your content.

Security and staff training

HTTPS; hashed sessions; hashed share passwords; private Cloudflare R2; no card data on RecBeam. RecBeam maintains security and privacy awareness training for relevant team members. Training is staff education, not an independent audit.

These are individual training certificates, in the same way the provider names above are infrastructure rather than certifications. They say a person on this team was taught the standard. They are not an audit of RecBeam, and they do not make RecBeam certified against anything.

RecBeam does not claim end-to-end encryption, zero-knowledge, SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR certification, or HIPAA. Full detail: recbeam.com/security.

Deletion

Delete individual videos and screenshots in your library. To close the whole account, email [email protected] from that account’s Google address. Uninstalling the extension does not delete cloud files. RecBeam does not yet offer a one-click export of everything; you can download items one by one, or ask by email.
