How to use it

PDF Editor: frequently asked questions

Is the PDF editor really free?

Yes. No price, no account, no watermark. Your PDF stays in your browser and is never uploaded.

What can I do with it?

Add text, draw, highlight, white-out (cover) text, add images, and add a drawn signature. Then download the edited PDF.

Can I edit the existing text in my PDF?

This editor adds new content on top of your pages. To change existing text, white-out the old text and type the new text over it.

Does it work with scanned PDFs?

Yes for adding text, signatures and images. Scanned pages are pictures, so their original text cannot be edited.

Which fonts are used for added text?

Helvetica, which is built into every PDF reader. Characters outside the standard Latin set may show as question marks.

Is it really free?

Yes. No price, no account, no watermark, and no limit on how many PDFs you process.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Everything runs in your browser on your own device. Your PDFs never leave it.

Is there a file size limit?

Files up to a few hundred megabytes work well. Very large files depend on your computer's memory.

Can it open password-protected PDFs?

Not password-protected files. Remove the password first, then try again.
