How to use it

Cut the start and end of a recording so viewers only see what matters.

  1. Add your video.
  2. Set the start and end points.
  3. Trim and download the shorter file.

What to expect

Trimming shortens the clip. Shorter videos are easier to share, quicker to watch and smaller to send.

Tip

Need a different format afterwards? Try WebM to MP4 or MP4 to GIF.

Trim Video: frequently asked questions

What is a frame-exact cut?

A normal trim is instant but starts at the nearest keyframe, which can be up to a few seconds early. Frame-exact re-encodes the clip so it starts exactly where you chose.

Which formats can I trim?

MP4, WebM, MOV and MKV. The normal trim keeps your original format.

Is it really free?

Yes. There is no price, no account, no watermark and no limit on how many files you convert.

Are my files uploaded?

No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser on your own computer. Your video never leaves your device.

Is there a file size limit?

Files up to about 1 GB work well. Very large files depend on your computer's memory and can be slow.

Why does the first conversion take longer?

The first time, your browser downloads the converter (about 30 MB). It is cached after that.
