Part of Screenshot tool
Blur or pixelate names and numbers before sharing. For passwords, keys and anything highly sensitive, do not capture them at all, or cover them completely.
What to hide
- Names, email addresses and phone numbers.
- Account, order and invoice numbers.
- Tokens, API keys and passwords.
- Browser tabs, bookmarks and notifications that show private information.
How to blur in RecBeam
- Capture the tab or window with RecBeam.
- Open the Pixelate tool in the editor.
- Drag over each sensitive area.
- Check the result at full size, then download the PNG or copy the link.
Blur or cover?
Pixelating is fine for names and ordinary numbers. For secrets, a solid rectangle is safer than any blur, and the safest option is to keep the secret out of the capture. Use a rectangle from the shapes tools to cover it.
Before you share
- Zoom in and look for anything you missed, including small text and tab titles.
- Remember that a share link reaches anyone who has it.
- Delete the screenshot when it is no longer needed. Deleting it breaks the link immediately.

Questions
Is blurring enough to hide text?
For ordinary details it is usually fine. For passwords, API keys and similar secrets, avoid capturing them or cover them with a solid shape, because light blurring can sometimes be reversed.
Does RecBeam have a blur tool?
Yes. The screenshot editor includes a pixelate tool, and Business also lets you blur sensitive areas while recording.
